How To Get Involved
When and Where? The tennis club meets every Wednesday afternoon at the Belfast Boat Club from 2pm - 4pm (each session is £3). We use most of the 12 tennis courts available to us which we think are one of the best tennis facilities in Belfast. To get there from QUB, walk up the Stranmillis Road as far as Stranmillis University College on the roundabout . Go straight across the roundabout and continue past Cutter’s Wharf pub. The Belfast Boat Club is about 200 yards past this on the left hand side. It is about a 10 minute walk from the Students’ Union. If you want to join but are not sure where to go, drop one of the committee members an e-mail or look at the map. What Do We Do?Coaching - Tennis coaching is given by dedicated coaches and begins at 1.30 on Wednesdays. Coaching is available for everyone, beginner - intermediate through to advanced players. So don’t be afraid if you haven’t picked up a racket before!! The high quality coaches (who you’ll learn to love!) will introduce you to the joys of tennis or to help develop those existing skills.Tournaments - Throughout the year club members will have the opportunity to take part in various tournaments and competitions which include the 2008 intervarsity, club ladders and the Belfast district league. If you’re curious about any of these come along and find out more! (For those who aren’t overly confident, don’t worry, it’s all chilled!)Extra fun i.e. Social events and nights out!
- The clubs main social night out is a Wednesday night, so if you’re not bombarded with work(!?) and the fatigue of tennis, come along and have a bit of fun!
- Also occasionally we have a social event with a difference! (Maybe paintballing, Go-Karting etc…) keep an eye on the events calendar.
- And last but definitely not least - The infamous Wimbledon Trip!!!!
